Personally, this is great news for my long shattered ego. I was EXTREMELY envious of Dave Chappelle. I would watch him and think that there’s no way one man could be that brilliant. Turns out I was right, he’s a bot.
Dave Chappelle is the perfect simulation of an incredibly intelligent, smart, charming, charismatic and funny comedian who, right after you fall in love with him, divides America— because divide and conquer is precisely how rich and powerful men (like Vladimir Putin) get richer and more powerful.
For example, last week on Saturday Night Live, Chappelle succeeded in dividing some Jews from some blacks, the same way his Netflix specials divide some members of the LGBTQ community from the un-woke mob.
Imagine if a rogue Russian invented a Chappelle who targeted America’s real enemy, a Chappelle who attacked billionaires, health insurance companies, landlords, the prison industrial complex and oil companies.
A bot that talented could unite an entire nation to do some serious damage to the status quo.
As long as the American people never learn that great comedy ONLY takes a wrecking ball to the rich and powerful, Dave Chappelle will grow bigger and bigger, and that works out perfectly for Vladimir Putin and all of the other billionaires who want us fighting among ourselves.
That's why the trope that income equality or "identity politics" are what pushes people into racism and bigotry is false.
Largely due to the freedom of disinformation and lack of mental Healthcare this country prides herself on, this is a country where outside of our institutional racism, there is only equal opportunity to be a bigot across ALL race and class lines.
While I admire Chappelle's fiery brilliance, I agree with your conclusion. Great comics and commentators skewer the rich. But the path to wealth and fame in our overrated and overheated country is to go after the victims of the plutocrats, rather than the plutocrats.
